I just have to take a moment to brag on our Colts. Our students have been working so hard in every corner of our building. From published writing pieces and hands-on math challenges to collaborative science investigations and creative projects, there is a steady hum of engagement happening every single day. When you walk our halls, you can feel it — students thinking deeply, problem-solving together, and pushing themselves to grow. We are so proud of the ownership they are taking in their learning and the perseverance they show, even when the work gets tough.
I especially want to shine a bright spotlight on our incredible Destination Imagination teams. Destination Imagination (DI) is a global creativity and problem-solving competition that challenges students to think critically, work collaboratively, and present innovative solutions. This year, our teams have poured hours into brainstorming, designing, building, revising, and practicing. They have demonstrated true grit, teamwork, and creativity. And now we are thrilled to announce that our two DI teams are advancing to the State Competition in Arlington! Advancing to state is an incredible accomplishment, and it reflects months of dedication and determination. These students have learned how to navigate challenges, support one another, and rise to high expectations — all while having fun and representing Northampton with pride. We could not be more proud of their hard work and heart. Please join us in cheering them on as they prepare to compete at the state level. Once a Colt, always a Colt — and our Colts continue to soar!

CAR RIDER SAFETY REMINDER |
This is a friendly but important reminder about our morning carpool safety procedures. The safety of our students is always our top priority, and we need everyone’s help to ensure arrival runs smoothly and safely for all.
Please do not allow students to exit the vehicle before reaching the designated cone area. Letting students out early — even if traffic is moving slowly — creates unsafe conditions for children and staff. Our team is positioned strategically at the cones to supervise and assist students safely onto campus.
Additionally, please do not move your vehicle forward until you are directed to do so by a staff member. Sudden movement or pulling around other cars can create dangerous situations for students who may be walking nearby. We know mornings can feel rushed, and we truly appreciate your patience and cooperation. These procedures are in place strictly for student safety, and when everyone follows them, carpool moves efficiently and safely for all Colts. |

STAAR testing is coming soon and we’re proud of the progress our students have made this year. As the dates approach, please support your child by encouraging a good night’s sleep, a healthy breakfast, and calm, on-time mornings. Please review our dress code expectations to help keep school focused and respectful. Clothing or accessories that are distracting, disruptive, or revealing are not permitted—this includes items that are too short, low‑cut, see‑through, backless, or styled like underwear worn as outerwear. Blankets or other items that cause distraction should also stay at home.
A quick reminder: smart watches and similar devices must follow school rules—please check the Klein Student Handbook for specific details.
If the principal determines that a student’s grooming or clothing violates the school’s dress code, the student will be given an opportunity to correct the problem at school and return to the classroom. If the problem cannot be corrected at school, the principal will work with the student and parent to obtain an acceptable change of clothing for the student in a way that minimizes loss of instructional time. Repeated or severe offenses may result in more serious disciplinary action in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct.

With colder weather here, please remind your child to check for missing outerwear and personal items when they return to school. Encourage students to label belongings and to stop by the Lost & Found soon — items not claimed after a reasonable time will be donated. Thank you for helping us keep students warm and prepared! |

At Northampton, the safety of our Colts always comes first!
Please remember that all visitors must show a photo ID at the door every time you come to campus—even if we already know you. Additionally, for everyone’s safety, please do not allow anyone else to enter with you. Each visitor must check in at the door and show their own ID before entering. These important steps help us keep every student safe and ensure we are following district safety procedures.
Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us maintain a secure learning environment for our students! |

Attendance matters because every day in school is an opportunity to learn, grow, and build connections. When students are present, they gain essential skills, keep up with lessons, and stay on track academically. Consistent attendance also helps students develop responsibility, routines, and a sense of community with classmates and teachers. Even a few missed days can make it harder to keep up, so being at school every day ensures students don’t miss out on learning, friendships, and all the experiences that make school meaningful. If you are unable to make it to school, please see the directions for uploading your absence into Skyward so it is properly recorded.
