Newsletter Archive: Back to School

Northampton Family,

Wow—what a way to start the year! Thank you for trusting us with your children each day. We’ve loved every moment of getting to know our Colts, learning their unique personalities, and beginning to build strong connections. This week has been full of smiles, laughter, and new friendships, and our students have already been hard at work learning our school routines and expectations. We are so proud of how quickly they’re adjusting and how eager they are to learn!

💡 Reminders for Week 2:

  • Start Time: School begins at 8:05 AM, which is also when the tardy bell rings. Please make sure students are inside the building before this time so they can start their day ready to learn.

  • Breakfast: The breakfast serving line closes promptly at 8:05 AM. If your child is eating breakfast at school, please plan to arrive earlier.

  • Car Rider Line: For safety, please do not switch lanes at any time in the car rider line. Staying in your lane helps us keep things moving smoothly and safely for all.

  • Morning Drop-Off: Starting Monday, families will no longer be able to walk students inside. This helps our students build independence and ensures we can keep our morning routine flowing. We’ll have plenty of staff ready to welcome and guide students to class.

  • Smart Watches & Phones: These are not allowed during the school day. If your child has one, please ensure it stays at home.

We can’t wait for another week filled with learning, laughter, and new adventures. Thank you for your continued support in making Northampton a place where every Colt can shine! 💙🐴

With Colt Pride,
Lisa Mackey
Principal, Northampton Elementary

STEAM at Northampton

This week, we learned all about the Learning Pit—a way to understand that real learning often starts easy, gets tricky, and then ends with success. The pit represents that challenging middle stage when things feel confusing or frustrating. That’s where the real growth happens! We talked about how to keep going, use different strategies, and work together to climb out of the pit, stronger and smarter than before.
