Northampton Family,

October is almost here, and we are so excited for all the amazing things happening at Northampton! šŸ’™šŸ“ Our Colts are shining in their learning, and next month is packed with fun and community spirit.

We can’t wait to see everyone at our First Ever Fall Festival—a night full of vendors, games, and food, all supporting our Destination Imagination teams. Don’t miss the spooky fun of our Haunted House with a $5 cash entry—sure to be a highlight! šŸŽƒšŸ‘»

We also want to celebrate some of the incredible moments we’ve already shared this year. Fancy Nancy Day was a dazzling success—our Colts looked fabulous in their fanciest outfits, and we are so grateful to Mrs. Leiseth and the Blue Willow Bookshop for helping bring this event to life. šŸ’ŽāœØ And on First Responders Day, we were proud to honor our local heroes and welcome them to campus. Our Colts had the chance to learn from and thank those who serve our community each and every day. šŸš“šŸš’šŸš‘

October also brings so many traditions and activities we love: Field Day, our Hispanic Heritage Parade, and the always-joyful Storybook Character Parade. Each of these events gives our students a chance to shine, celebrate, and create lasting memories.

October is the perfect reminder of how strong, spirited, and amazing our Colt community truly is.

With Colt Pride,
Lisa Mackey
Principal, Northampton Elementary

šŸ©Donuts with Dudes! šŸ©

We are so excited to invite you to our Donuts & Dudes event on Friday, September 26th at 7:30 AM! This is a special morning where students get to enjoy a donut and some quality time with their favorite ā€œdudeā€ — whether that’s a dad, grandpa, uncle, older brother, or another important role model in their life.

It’s always one of our favorite traditions at Northampton because it’s a chance to celebrate the amazing connections between our students and the supportive men who cheer them on every day. We can’t wait to fill the cafeteria with smiles, laughter, and sweet memories.

Hispanic Heritage Parade

On Wednesday, October 9th at 9:00 AM, we will proudly host a Dual Language Cultural Parade! This special event is an opportunity for our students to dress in attire that represents Hispanic Heritage or any culture they would like to showcase. More than just a parade, this celebration is a powerful way to highlight the rich diversity that makes our school community so unique and vibrant.

At Northampton, we believe that honoring and learning from one another’s cultures builds empathy, respect, and unity. By creating space for students and families to share their heritage, we strengthen the connections that make our campus feel like home. Families are invited to attend and celebrate alongside us as we recognize the beauty of our differences and the strength of our shared community. šŸŒŽ

Storybook Parade and Storybook Pumpkins

šŸ“šāœØ Get ready for one of our favorite traditions—our Storybook Parade and Storybook Pumpkins! Students will have the chance to bring their favorite characters to life by dressing up and showcasing decorated pumpkins inspired by their favorite books.

This celebration isn’t just fun—it connects directly to the heart of what we value at Northampton: literacy and creativity. The Storybook Parade encourages students to fall in love with reading while expressing themselves through costumes and character exploration. Our Storybook Pumpkins take it a step further by blending STEAM and literacy—students use problem-solving, design, and artistic skills to transform a pumpkin into a storybook character. It’s hands-on, creative, and a wonderful way to see how reading inspires innovation.

We can’t wait to see the joy, imagination, and love of stories shine across our campus during this special event!

ID Reminder

At Northampton, the safety of our Colts always comes first!

Please remember that all visitors must show a photo ID at the door every time you come to campus—even if we already know you. Additionally, for everyone’s safety, please do not allow anyone else to enter with you. Each visitor must check in at the door and show their own ID before entering. These important steps help us keep every student safe and ensure we are following district safety procedures.

Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us maintain a secure learning environment for our students!

Counselor's Corner

Fall is such an exciting season on our campus, and it’s the perfect time to continue building character and celebrating our Colts. This year, we are spotlighting students who go above and beyond to live out our Core Values—respect, responsibility, kindness, and perseverance. Whether it’s lending a helping hand, showing school pride, or cheering on their classmates, our Colts are proving every day that character counts.

In October, our counseling lessons will focus on gratitude and celebrating differences, helping students see the value in appreciating others and recognizing the strengths each person brings to our school family. As we step into this busy season filled with festivals, parades, and special events, it’s also a reminder that who we are on the inside matters just as much as what we achieve in the classroom.

I am so proud of our Colts, and I can’t wait to continue highlighting the amazing ways they are growing as learners and leaders this fall. šŸ’™šŸ“

STEAM at Northampton

Our Colts are charging Full STEAM Ahead with hands-on learning, creativity, and problem-solving! šŸš€āœØ Students have been exploring magnets, force, and motion, experimenting with how objects attract and repel while integrating their discoveries into reading and play. They’ve tackled engineering challenges like building the tallest free-standing towers with limited materials and collaborating to create items that match specific shapes—all under time pressure to spark teamwork and creative thinking. šŸŽØšŸ”µ Hands-on projects have also inspired writing and reflection, as students use their STEAM creations to craft personal narratives and connect experiences to literacy. Outdoor exploration has been a hit, too, with activities like sink or float experiments, encouraging observation, prediction, and analysis. šŸŒŠšŸ  From magnets to towers, and creative experiments to real-world problem-solving, our Colts are showing that STEAM is more than just a subject—it’s a mindset. Each challenge encourages collaboration, perseverance, and innovation, and our students are rising to the occasion with energy and excitement. šŸ’™šŸ“
