Kuehnle New Assistant Principal- Mrs. Riojas

Dear Kuehnle Elementary Family,

I am beyond excited to be serving the students, staff, and families of Kuehnle Elementary as the assistant principal. I am truly honored to continue serving this school community that has been my professional home for the past 12 years.

During my time at Kuehnle, I have had the privilege of serving in a variety of roles, including workroom/library paraprofessional, ACCESS paraprofessional, ACCESS teacher, 2nd grade ELA teacher, 5th grade ELA teacher, and most recently, Special Education Academic Lead Teacher. These experiences have allowed me to work closely with students across grade levels and collaborate with staff and families in many different capacities.

I am deeply committed to supporting a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment where all students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Partnering with families is essential to student success, and I value open communication and collaboration as we work together.

Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions, concerns, or need support. I look forward to continuing to serve our students and families in this new role.

Thank you for your continued support of Kuehnle. I am excited for a successful year ahead.

Respectfully,

Lupe Riojas

December at Kuehnle

December was a joyful and busy month at Kuehnle! Our Koalas were treated to wonderful musical performances from Kleb Intermediate, Strack Intermediate, and Klein High School, filling our campus with holiday cheer. Our 2nd graders, 4th graders, and ACCESS students enjoyed hands-on learning experiences aboard the Klein ISD STEAM Express, while our 5th graders had the opportunity to attend a special musical performance at Klein Collins High School.

In between these exciting experiences, there was still plenty of learning, serving, and leading taking place each day. We wrapped up the season by celebrating together through our annual Koala Days, Kuehnle Family Sing-Along, and Winter Parties.

We hope you and your family enjoyed a restful and joyful Winter Break. We look forward to creating many more meaningful and memorable moments with our students as we begin the second half of the school year. 🐨✨

Counselor's Corner

When we return from Winter Break, students will participate in our Expectations Camp, where we will review the Kuehnle Koala T’s of Success—Think Safe, Take Responsibility, and Show Tolerance. This is an important time to remind our Koalas how their choices and actions help their greatness glow both in the classroom and throughout our campus.

As we move into the second half of the school year, we will continue encouraging students to make positive choices, show kindness, and support one another as they grow academically and socially. Thank you for your continued partnership in helping every Koala shine bright and be the best they can be.

Attendance Counts

As we begin the second half of the school year, strong attendance plays a key role in helping our Koalas continue to learn, grow, and thrive. Every day your child is at school is a valuable opportunity to build academic skills, stay connected to classroom learning, and develop habits of responsibility and consistency.

Being present each day also supports friendships, confidence, and a strong sense of belonging within our Kuehnle community. Even a few missed days can create learning gaps that may be challenging to close, which is why we encourage consistent attendance whenever possible.

When absences are necessary, we appreciate your help in ensuring they are properly documented. Please be sure to upload absence documentation in Skyward so we can accurately update your child’s attendance record.

Thank you for your continued partnership in supporting student success—every day counts! 💙🐨

A Special Thank You for the Holiday Cheer

A special thank you to our wonderful Parent Teacher Organization for all the ways you support our campus and staff. We are incredibly grateful for everyone who has joined and contributed this year!

The hibachi-style lunch setup was amazing—thank you to Hayashi Hibachi and the Saucedo family for treating our staff to such a fun and delicious experience.

We also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Ha family for their generous donation of food from Beijing Wok in Humble. It was such a thoughtful surprise—and absolutely delicious!

A big shoutout to H-E-B on Gosling for the nacho bar and popcorn bar donations.

And finally, thank you to Mrs. Perez for the Blue Bell Ice Cream frosty treat donations and to Big Kahuna Fundraising for the gift wrapping paper donations.

Your continued sponsorship and support mean so much to our campus!
