Virtual Student Success Checklist

Make These 3 Habits Part of Your Student’s Daily Routine!

Building consistent daily habits is one of the best ways to stay organized and successful in virtual learning.

1. Complete Attendance - Form linked HERE - Attendance must be completed every school day. Make completing attendance part of your morning routine.

2. Check Schoology & Your WAG (Week At A Glance) - Review your Week at a Glance (WAG) in Schoology each day so you know what is expected for the week. Check Schoology and Edmentum, as assignments and important information may be posted in either platform. Use your WAG to help plan your week and stay ahead of deadlines.

3. Stay on Top of Assignments & Check Skyward for Grades - Complete and submit assignments by 11:59 p.m. Sunday night.

Remember: Skyward is where you should check your grades and overall progress. Progress status and grades in Edmentum have been disabled to reduce confusion.

Edmentum and Schoology are used to access and complete assignments, but grades should be monitored in Skyward.

⭐ Three simple habits: Complete attendance. Check your WAG. Monitor your grades in Skyward. Making these part of your daily routine can help set your student up for success!

Student Success Reminders

At Texas Promise Academy, you are never expected to figure everything out on your own. Our teachers and staff are here to help you succeed—but it is important that you reach out early and be proactive when you need support.

Check Your Assignments Early

Don't wait until Sunday night to discover that you have questions. Review your assignments early in the week so you have plenty of time to ask questions and get the help you need.

Visit Teacher Office Hours

Take advantage of your teacher's office hours. This is a great time to ask questions, get clarification, or receive additional help with your coursework. Your Teacher's Office Hours are posted in their Schoology Course.

💬 TEAMS Chat Your Teacher

Have a question? TEAMS Chat your teacher! You can use Microsoft Teams to ask questions, clarify an assignment, or schedule additional support when you need it.

Visit the TPA In-Person Center

Sometimes it helps to work with your teacher face-to-face. Students can visit the Texas Promise Academy In-Person Center to meet with teachers and receive support in person. See the Schedule below.

 Be Proactive!

The TPA team is here to support you, but you have to take the first step. If you are confused, falling behind, or struggling with an assignment, don't wait - reach out early.

Check early. Ask questions. Get support. Stay on track.
