Doerre Families,

What an incredible first week! Thank you for helping us make the start of the school year smooth, positive, and full of Warrior pride. Our students have already brought so much energy and excitement to campus, and we are off to a fantastic start!

And what a way to begin the year—Doerre has officially earned a 2026 A Rating from TEA! Even more exciting, this marks FIVE YEARS IN A ROW of being an A-rated campus! This achievement reflects the hard work, dedication, and high expectations of our staff, students, and families. Five years. One standard. Excellence. We are incredibly proud of this accomplishment and grateful for the Doerre community that makes it possible.

As we head into Week Two, let’s keep that momentum going and bring our A game! We are excited to continue creating a campus where every student feels loved, cared for, challenged, and that they belong.

We also encourage all of our families to join the Doerre PTO and get involved in supporting our students and campus. Be sure to check out the information below about the 6th Grade PTO Fundraiser currently happening. Your support makes a difference and helps provide special opportunities and experiences for our students!

Thank you for your continued partnership and support. We are so proud of our Warriors and excited for all that this year has in store!

Let’s make Week Two our best yet! Go Warriors!

With Warrior pride,
Annie Welday-Zimney
Principal, Doerre Intermediate

A Note from the Counselors:

In Klein ISD we have a shared vision that each student enters with a PROMISE and exits with a PURPOSE. In alignment with that vision, the counselors at Doerre Intermediate want to ensure that our students fulfill that purpose and are exposed to high-quality leadership and learning on a daily basis.

The Doerre counseling staff is committed to advocating for our students and collaborating with teachers, parents, and the community in order for students to reach their highest possible academic, social, and career success.

We are looking forward to a fantastic school year!

Lunches & Lunch Deliveries

School Cafe: Klein ISD uses SchoolCafe for all support with meals and food services at school. Sign in or create an account to make payments, set purchase restrictions, submit meal applications and more! Click the link to get started!

SchoolCafe

Lunch Deliveries: Parents are also welcome to drop off lunch for their own child only. All lunch deliveries should be brought to the front office, where you will be asked to write your child's name on the lunch item. Our staff will deliver lunches to the cafeteria for each lunch period.

While we make every effort to ensure every lunch reaches the cafeteria, it is the student's responsibility to pick up their lunch from the stage during their assigned lunch period. Please be sure to communicate with your child in advance if you plan to bring them lunch so they know to check for it.

For student safety, and in accordance with the Klein ISD Student Handbook, students are not permitted to share food with one another. We appreciate your support in helping us maintain a safe environment for all students.

Additionally, Door Dash/Uber Eats cannot be sent to the front office for students. All deliveries must be brought by a parent.

Please see this year's lunch schedule below to determine your child's assigned lunch period.

Schedule Change Requests

As we get started on the first day, if a student has a question about their schedule, please have them complete the schedule change request form located in Schoology (coming soon). All students should remain in their scheduled class. Their counselor will call the student down to resolve any issues.

Please note that we are unable to accommodate schedule changes based on requests for specific teachers or to be in the same class or lunch as friends. We are proud of our amazing team of teachers, and this is a great opportunity for students to meet new people and make new connections. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to your student's alpha counselor.

2026-2027 Dress Code Expectations

Doerre Families,

As we have settled into the first few days of school, we have noticed that a few students have arrived out of dress code. We know that the beginning of the school year comes with lots of new routines and adjustments, so we wanted to provide a friendly reminder about our student dress code expectations.

Beginning Monday, students who are not adhering to the student dress code will be given the opportunity to correct the issue, when possible. If the issue cannot be corrected at school, the student will be asked to change into appropriate attire.

Thank you for partnering with us to help our students start each day ready to learn, confident, and successful! We appreciate your support and understanding as we work together to maintain a positive learning environment for all of our Warriors.

At Doerre Intermediate, we dress for success! As we get ready for the upcoming tax-free weekend, please see THIS LETTER regarding expectations for the 26-27 school year at Doerre Intermediate. If you have any questions regarding dress code, please reach out to your child's administrator: Administration | Doerre Intermediate. Happy shopping!

Substance Abuse Prevention Assembly- August 19th

In accordance with Texas Education Code Section 38.351, Klein ISD provides Substance Use Prevention Instruction to all 6th grade students each year. Doerre's presentation will take place on Wednesday, August 19, 2026.

This age-appropriate program helps students understand the dangers of drug and substance use while developing the knowledge and skills needed to make healthy choices. Students will learn about decision-making, goal setting, self-management, positive peer relationships, and strategies for saying "no" to risky behaviors. The program also emphasizes the importance of school connectedness and making positive choices that support lifelong success.

We understand that some families may choose not to have their child participate. If you would like to opt your student out of this instruction, please complete the Opt-Out Letter below and return it to the front office or your child's Alpha Assistant Principal's office before Wednesday, August 19, 2026. If a signed opt-out form is not received prior to the presentation, your child will participate in the instruction.

If you have any questions about the program, please contact your child's campus administrator.

Tutorials Process

To ensure all students are safely supervised, we do not student allow entry unless their teacher is present. Between 8:00 and 8:25, students can enter the building for tutorials through the secondary front door (the entrance nearest the handicap parking spots). Students must present their student ID and sign in, indicating where they will attend. Students will only be permitted to attend tutorials for teachers who have marked themselves present.

Here is the tutorial schedule for the 26-27 school year: Doerre Tutorial Schedule. Once the teacher arrives, they will turn their name green on this sheet, and our tutorial door greeter will know to let those students in for tutorials.  Teacher AM Tutoring Check-In Sheet

After 8:25, students will not be able to enter the building until the bell rings at 8:35, allowing our staff time to prepare for the school day and report to their morning duty stations.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding!
