THE BULLDOG BULLETIN: VOLUME ONE
August 7, 2025
Dear Ulrich Families,
I am beyond excited to begin my first year as the new principal of Ulrich Intermediate! It is truly an honor to join this amazing school community, and I feel blessed to now call Ulrich my new family. Whether you are a returning family or joining us for the first time, I extend to you a heartfelt welcome.
This year marks the start of a new chapter for me, and together, I know we will make it a year filled with learning, growth, and strong relationships. From the moment I stepped onto campus, it was clear that Ulrich is a special place—one built on a foundation of dedicated educators, supportive families, and incredible students.
At Ulrich, we believe that education is a true partnership between school, home, and community. I look forward to working closely with you to ensure every child feels valued, challenged, and supported. Over the summer, our staff has been hard at work attending professional development, preparing classrooms, and creating engaging lessons designed to inspire curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking.
We are equally committed to nurturing the social and emotional well-being of every student. We want our children to feel safe, respected, and connected. With the support of our counseling team and dedicated staff, we will continue building a culture where kindness, perseverance, and resilience are at the heart of all we do.
Open communication will be a priority for me. Throughout the year, we will share regular updates through our school website, newsletters, and other communication tools. Please know my door is always open—I welcome your ideas, questions, and feedback. Together, we will ensure that every child’s experience at Ulrich is a positive and memorable one.
I am truly looking forward to the year ahead and to getting to know each of you. Thank you for welcoming me into the Ulrich family and for trusting us with your child’s education. Let’s make 2025–2026 a year of growth, achievement, and joyful learning!
From the U,

In Klein ISD we have a shared vision that each student enters with a PROMISE and exits with a PURPOSE. In alignment with that vision, the counselors at Ulrich Intermediate want to ensure that our students fulfill that purpose and are exposed to high quality leadership and learning on a daily basis.
We are committed to advocating for our students and collaborating with teachers, parents, and the community in order for students to reach their highest possible academic, social, and career success.
We are working diligently to ensure all students have a schedule on time. To help facilitate this process, schedule changes will only be made for the following reasons:
Student is missing a class period
A course appears twice
Student has already received credit for a course
Any other requests for schedule changes will need to be approved by the Assistant Principal or Principal. If there is an issue with your student’s schedule, a request must be submitted to your respective grade-level office for administrative approval.

Ulrich Intermediate Bulldog Mission, Motto, Vision, & Core Values
It is important for all stakeholders to be aware of the Ulrich Intermediate Bulldog Mission, Vision, Motto, & Core Values. You may access our Bulldog Declaration HERE.
As always, we are placing a significant emphasis on fostering good behavior and strong character in our students. These qualities are fundamental to their success both in and out of the classroom. We believe that by working together, we can help our students develop into respectful, responsible, and caring individuals. Take a look at our guiding documents that highlight what we expect from our students here at Ulrich Intermediate.
We kindly ask for your support in reinforcing these values at home. When students see a consistent message about the importance of good behavior and character from both their school and their families, they are more likely to internalize these values. Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership. Together, we can make this school year a memorable and successful one for all our students.
With a Glowing 2025-2026 school year just around the corner, we want to ensure that all of our families are prepared before school starts.
RETURNING STUDENTS: For our returning students and families, welcome back! We cannot wait to see you back on campus! Please make sure to complete the Annual Enrollment Update. This is required for all current students in Klein ISD to ensure each student has a schedule and teachers assigned prior to the first day of school.
Please know that your child will not be assigned a teacher for Meet the Teacher unless you have completed this process. Please make sure to complete the Annual Enrollment Update today.

before this time; however they will be unattended until staff report to duty. Parents will drop off students by coming in off Spring Cypress or Loch Dane and joining the big loop in front of the building. Please push all the way down along the sidewalk so we can get multiple cars in the driveway when there is heavy traffic. Please make sure your child is ready to get out prior to entering the driveway, so that traffic can move quickly. Please drive slowly in our parking lots
Pick-Up - Information - will begin at 4:15. It is essential that if your child is being picked up, they get outside as quickly as possible so that we are not holding up the line. All parents are asked to always push all the way down the fire lane. This is what helps to get more cars into the front of our big loop to pick up our students. When it is raining, we still ask that you push down also but provide your students with umbrellas, ponchos, etc. Please drive slowly for the safety of everyone, and please respect our staff who are out on duty in the morning and afternoon.
Students are expected to cross at all crosswalks. Parents are expected to join the car rider line. Ulrich staff will not be responsible should you decide to pick them up from Cutten or Loch Dane Roads. Your child will be subject to being stopped by the adult on duty and you will be asked to join the big loop for pick-up.
Thank you for your help as we continue to keep student safety a priority. Please drive slowly for the safety of everyone, and please respect our staff who are out on duty in the morning and afternoon. Below are our 25-26 tardy procedures at Ulrich Intermediate School. Students are given 4 minutes to transition between classes. Students are counted tardy if they are not in their rooms by the time the tardy bell rings.Tardies will be tracked on a weekly basis for all class totals combined. Tardies will reset every week with consequences as follows:
1st-2nd Tardy- Warning
3rd Tardy- Lunch Detention
4th Tardy- 1 Hr After School Detention
5th Tardy- 2 Hr After School Detention
6th Tardy- 1 day of ISS
Failure to report for disciplinary action results in additional discipline.
On Fridays, if your student received 3 or more tardies during the week, you and your student will both receive an email stating how many, and the discipline actions that will be issued the following week. Thank you to all of our Bulldogs for getting to class promptly! If you have any additional questions about the changes to procedure, please feel free to contact your child’s administrator.
Absences / Attendance
Regular school attendance is essential for a student to make the most of his or her education. Additionally, regular attendance allows students to benefit from teacher-led and school activities, to build each day’s learning on the previous days, and to grow as an individual. Absences from class may result in serious disruption of a student’s mastery of the instructional materials; therefore, the student and parent should make every effort to avoid unnecessary absences.
To receive credit or a final grade in a class, a student must attend at least 90 percent of the days the class is offered. A student who attends fewer than 90 percent of the days the class is offered will be referred to the attendance review committee to determine whether there are extenuating circumstances for the absences and how the student can regain credit or a final grade lost because of absences.
Tardiness
Being late for a class is recognized as tardy; but after 15 minutes into any class, it will be recognized as an absence and the student will be counted absent without permission.

New State Law for Personal Communication Devices
As we enter the 2025–2026 school year, I want to reaffirm that your child’s education, safety, and well-being remain our top priorities. Part of ensuring a focused, distraction-free learning environment is maintaining clear expectations around cell phone and smart device use on campus.
In alignment with our campus expectations and the new Texas House Bill addressing cell phone restrictions in schools, Ulrich Intermediate will continue to prohibit student cell phone use during the school day. Our mission is to build strong academic foundations, social skills, and a supportive school culture where students are fully engaged in learning and relationships.
Policy Highlights for the 25–26 School Year:
Cell phones, smartwatches (used as communication devices), earbuds, smart glasses and headphones are not to be used during the school day.
This applies to all areas: classrooms, restrooms, locker rooms, cafeteria, hallways, and After School Detention.
Cell phones must remain off or on silent and stored in backpacks—not in hands, pockets, or visible at any time.
Earbuds, headphones, or similar devices connected to phones are not permitted.
Students found using a device during the school day will have it confiscated by the observing staff member. Parents/guardians will need to pick up the device from the front office.
Please take a moment to discuss these expectations with your child prior to the first day of school so they are set up for success from day one.
We truly appreciate your partnership in helping us create a learning environment where students can thrive without distractions. Together, we can ensure the 25–26 school year is one of focus, growth, and success for all Ulrich students.
