All Things Field Day

Field Day is on Thursday, April 2, 2026

We are so excited to have our Field Day with the whole school this year! Check out the information below and please let us know if you have additional questions so we can answer them in advance.

Note: While we hope for the best weather possible, we do have a back up plan that will be communicated via email/text message at least 1 day prior to the event should we encounter inclement weather.

Schedule of the day:

8:30 - 11:00 Morning games
11:00 - 12:15 Lunch & Break
12:15 - 2:30 Afternoon games

NEW TRADITION CONTINUES! Staff Inflatables race following the last session at 2:30 in the main field behind
the school.

Tips for the Morning Of Field Day

We typically see students with eye allergy-related symptoms during this time of year, and nurse care is limited to wiping eyes and rinsing before giving ice. Please consider your child's need for allergy medicine to control their symptoms, especially on Field Day when students are outside all day.

Here are some tips to make sure your child is adequately prepared for Field Day:
-Eat a balanced breakfast (protein and carbs) in the morning
-Take any morning medications including allergy treatment (antihistamines) or morning inhalers
-Wear sweat bands/hats
-Apply sunscreen before school and pack sunglasses
-Pack electrolyte drinks/water
-Depending on the weather, cooling towels may be helpful
-Dress your child in appropriate clothing for the Spring weather (no sweatshirts or long pants)

What does my child wear/bring to Field Day?

Please have your child wear their Field Day shirt (5th grade shirt for 5th grade), comfortable bottoms and athletic shoes on Field Day. If you do not have a field day shirt, please wear the colorof the grade level shirt.
Grade Level shirt colors:

PK - Daisy Yellow
Kinder - Heather Sapphire (bright cerulean blue)
1st - Electric Green (grass green)
2nd - Safety Green (neon yellow/green color)
3rd - Violet
4th - Red
5th - 5th Grade shirt

It is important that all students bring a water bottle with them to school on Field Day. Please label this with your child's name. They will take their water bottle with them as they travel around the stations. We will have a refill water station for students available. It could be hot and we are hoping for sun! Please send your child with sunscreen already applied and a hat if they are sensitive to the sun.

Students will NOT need their backpacks on Field Day and can leave those at home.

We also highly encourage students to bring a sack lunch as classes may plan a picnic lunch or will be eating in their classrooms.

Can I come and watch Field day with my child?

Yes! Learn how to RSVP and check in.

Raptor Visitor Badge

1.All parents and family visitors are invited to join Field Day.

Younger, non-school age siblings can attend with their parent, but must be supervised at all times. We value attendance, so school age students from other campuses will not be allowed to attend Theiss Field Day. We hope to visit with our former Tigers another time.

2. All visitors must have their IDs and be scanned through our system.

To ensure the safety and security of our students and staff, all visitors must have their ID scanned. By scanning your ID, we are able to print individualized visitor tags. We would be happy to print your tag in advance so that it is ready when you arrive. Please stop by the front office anytime from 8:30 - 4:00 to have your ID scanned in advance of Field Day. If you are unable to scan in advance, you will be able to scan your ID as you arrive at the front porch. All previous data from our system last year has been reset, so if you have not scanned this school year, you will have to scan your ID again.

3. All parents must RSVP using this link.
With your RSVP and scanned ID, we can prepare your visitor tag in advance and prevent time standing in line. You will be asked to show your ID to retrieve your badge.

4. When arriving to field day all visitors must stop receive a visitor's tag before joining your childat Field day.
All Pre-checked visitors can pick up their visitor tag at the designated table on thefront porch. You will be asked to show your ID to retrieve your badge. If you did not RSVP, you will need to report to the front office. The line can get quitelong for those who are checking in for the first time, so please come early and be patient. We'll work as quickly as we can to get you checked in.

5. Parents are not allowed to spray sunscreen, apply insect repellent or creams, give medications or share food to children who are not their own children.
We have many students will medical plansand/or allergies. We want our students to be safe throughout the event. If a parent oversees a childwho may need medical attention, please alert a staff member so that we can assist in getting thechild assistance.

Field Day should end close to 3:00. If you would like to take your child home early from Field Day, please follow the procedure below:
