A New Year, A New Beginning at Strack!

We are so excited to begin the 2025–26 school year at Strack! Our team has spent the summer learning, planning, and preparing to make this an incredible year for your child, and we can’t wait to welcome all of our Cougars back on campus for the first day of school on Wednesday!

It was so great to see so many of you at Cougar Night—we loved getting the chance to connect with our families and share the excitement for the year ahead. We were especially proud to show off our beautiful new building, which so many people have worked incredibly hard to create for our students. It’s a space we know will inspire learning, growth, and a strong sense of community.

We’re committed to creating a positive, engaging, and safe learning environment where every student can grow academically and personally. We believe in partnering with you to help your child reach their full potential, and we look forward to working together to make that happen.

Thank you in advance for your support—we’re here for you every step of the way. We can’t wait to welcome all of our Cougars back on the first day of school: Wednesday, August 13, 2025!

Arriving at Strack: What to Know

The first day of school is Wednesday, August 13th. Students may ride the bus to school or be dropped off in the front drive of Strack; please be aware that traffic does tend to get backed up, so plan accordingly. On the first day, doors will open at 8:30 a.m. for students to eat breakfast and pick up their schedules. Any student who needs breakfast should go to the cafeteria first before going to their grade-level location for schedule pick-up. First period begins at 8:55 a.m.

First Day Schedule Pick-Up Locations

  • 6th graders will pick up their schedule in the new competition gym, line up by their first period teacher, hear a brief welcome from 6th grade administrator Mr. Kevin Moye, and be walked to class by their teacher.

  • 7th graders will pick up their schedule in the big gym and wait there until instructed to go to first period.

  • 8th graders will pick up their schedule in the cafeteria and remain there until instructed to go to first period.

Bus Transportation Details

Bus route details are available online for students attending their home campus and riding a regular education bus. Use the link below to enter your street address (house number, street name, and zip code) and select a campus or grade level to find your child’s route. Students should arrive at their bus stop 10 minutes before the scheduled pick-up time. Please note that bus numbers may change, and if you move, you will need to update your address with the campus so transportation records can be updated.

Student IDs

Students will receive their ID cards along with their schedules on the first day of school. Students are expected to wear their IDs on a lanyard around their neck and keep them visible at all times. IDs can be removed during PE or Athletics, but must be put back on afterward. If a student does not have their ID, they will need to get a temporary one, which will add a $1 fee to their school cash account. If a student loses their ID, they can request a replacement. The new ID will come with a lanyard and sleeve, and a $5 fee will be charged to their school cash account.

Student Arrival and Dismissal Procedures

Please enter the parking lot at Kuykendahl & Elmbrook Drive and make a left turn at the traffic light to access the lot. Follow the green arrows to proceed through the drop-off and pick-up route. Students should only enter or exit vehicles within the designated orange zones. For safety and efficiency, please move as far forward as possible in these zones before loading or unloading your child. The main student entry point is located near the new gym area, close to the front office. When exiting, follow the blue arrows to leave the parking lot smoothly. Thank you for your attention to these procedures to help keep our students safe and traffic flowing smoothly!

Bus Rider Dismissal

Student can find their bus number, bus stop and scheduled pick up time through the Klein ISD Transportation website. For dismissal, students will remain in their 7th period classroom until their bus arrives and is available to load according to the bus feed displayed in class. Any students still waiting for their bus to arrive after 4:30 will wait in the cafeteria.

Walkers & Bike Riders

Students who walk or bike to and from school should follow all crosswalk and sidewalks until they enter the building. A bike rack will be available near the gym entrance.

chromebook distribution

Families can pick up student Chromebooks on August 11th (9 AM–Noon) or August 12th (5:00–7:00 PM) at the athletic entrance of Strack (left side of the building). If you are unable to pick up your Chromebook before school starts, don’t worry...we will make sure students have an opportunity to get theirs during the first few days of the school.

Updated Personal Communication Device Procedure for 2025-26

Starting with the 2025–2026 school year, a new Texas state law (House Bill 1481) prohibits students from using personal communication devices—such as phones, smartwatches, earbuds, and tablets—during the instructional day while on school grounds. Devices must be turned off and stored out of sight in a backpack or bag from the first bell to the end of the school day, including during passing periods, lunch, and recess.

Violations require disciplinary action. Families are encouraged to discuss this law with their children before the first day of school on August 13th. Schools will also review expectations and consequences with students to support a focused and positive learning environment.
