Strack Intermediate

This Week at Strack

Week of August 4-8, 2025

Welcome back from Mrs. Gray

Dear Strack Families,

It is with great excitement and pride that I welcome you to the 2025–26 school year! As the new principal of Strack Intermediate, I am thrilled to join this incredible community and look forward to all the possibilities this school year holds.

One of the most exciting things about this year is the unveiling of our newly renovated building. I’ve loved watching the construction progress over the summer, and I can’t wait for our students and families to see the beautiful learning environment that has been created just for them. While some minor cosmetic updates will continue throughout the early part of the year, please know that we are fully ready—and beyond excited—to welcome our Cougars back!

To kick things off, we invite you to join us for Cougar Night on Thursday, August 7th from 5:30–7:00 p.m. This will be a great opportunity for students and families to:

  • Pick up class schedules

  • Receive Chromebooks (for those prepaid on SchoolCash by noon on August 7th)

  • Walk the building and locate classrooms

Our goal is to ensure a smooth and exciting transition into the new school year for every student. I’m confident that, together, we’ll create an environment where students feel safe, supported, and challenged to grow.

Thank you for welcoming me into the Strack family. I look forward to partnering with you to make this an unforgettable year of learning and success.

With Cougar pride,
Stephanie Gray
Principal
Strack Intermediate School

Procedures Updates 25-26

Food Deliveries

To maintain a safe and smooth school day, we kindly ask that there are no food deliveries to students. We appreciate your support in helping everyone plan ahead and stay focused on learning!

Dress Code

Strack follows a strict adherence to the Klein ISD Dress Code found in the student handbook.

Student IDs

Students will receive their ID cards along with their schedules on the first day of school.

Students are expected to wear their IDs on a lanyard around their neck and keep them visible at all times. IDs can be removed during PE or Athletics, but must be put back on afterward.

If a student does not have their ID, they will need to get a temporary one, which will add a $1 fee to their school cash account.

If a student loses their ID, they can request a replacement. The new ID will come with a lanyard and sleeve, and a $5 fee will be charged to their school cash account.

Chromebook Distribution

Students can pick up their schedules and prepaid Chromebooks at Cougar Night on August 7th from 5:30–7:00 PM. If you're unable to attend, schedules and Chromebooks will also be distributed during the first few days of school.

Lunch Visitors

To help maintain a safe and secure environment, we will not be able to accommodate lunch visitors this school year. We appreciate your understanding and support.

Here is a basic list of school supplies to help your student start the year prepared. Some teachers may provide specific supply needs during the first few days of school, so you are welcome to wait before purchasing everything. You can use the list below as a general guide.

Updated Personal Communication Device Procedure for 2025-26

Starting with the 2025–2026 school year, a new Texas state law (House Bill 1481) prohibits students from using personal communication devices—such as phones, smartwatches, earbuds, and tablets—during the instructional day while on school grounds. Devices must be turned off and stored out of sight from the first bell to the end of the school day, including during passing periods, lunch, and recess.

Violations require disciplinary action. Families are encouraged to discuss this law with their children before the first day of school on August 13th. Schools will also review expectations and consequences with students to support a focused and positive learning environment.

Car Rider Drop Off & Pick Up

Please enter the parking lot at Kuykendahl & Elmbrook Drive and make a left turn at the traffic light to access the lot. Follow the green arrows to proceed through the drop-off and pick-up route. Students should only enter or exit vehicles within the designated orange zones. For safety and efficiency, please move as far forward as possible in these zones before loading or unloading your child. The main student entry point is located near the new gym area, close to the front office. When exiting, follow the blue arrows to leave the parking lot smoothly.

Thank you for your attention to these procedures to help keep our students safe and traffic flowing smoothly!

Walkers & Bike Riders

Students who walk or bike to and from school should follow all crosswalk and sidewalks until they enter the building. A bike rack will be available near the gym entrance.

Bus Riders

Student can find their bus number, bus stop and scheduled pick up time through the Klein ISD Transportation website. For dismissal, students will remain in their 7th period classroom until their bus arrives and is available to load according to the bus feed displayed in class. Any students still waiting for their bus to arrive after 4:30 will wait in the cafeteria.
