Hello Mahaffey Families!
Spring is in full bloom, and we hope you are enjoying all the brightness and joy this season brings! This month, we encourage you to take a moment to reflect with your child on how far they’ve come since the beginning of the school year. Celebrate the skills they’ve gained and the goals they’ve already achieved. Then, shift the conversation to what they are still working toward. The power of “yet” reminds us that learning is a journey, and growth is always possible. Together, let’s help our students set goals, stay focused, and continue building a plan for success. There is still plenty of time in the school year for our amazing Scotties to reach new heights and demonstrate their full potential. Let’s continue to focus on what our students CAN do and what they WILL do with perseverance, support, and a growth mindset.

We have many opportunities throughout the school year to help out our school and our PTO. From donations for teacher luncheons, volunteer opportunities, being a board member, and everything in between! Please give your information below so that we may contact you whenever needs arise.

In alignment with Klein ISD’s Safe and Secure protocols, all visitors must show a valid photo ID at the front door before entering the building.
Please take a moment to review the Entry Procedure sign posted at our main entrance. All visitors are required to:
Ring the doorbell Identify yourself State your child’s name Share the reason for your visit Present your valid photo ID

🚫 For security reasons, please do not allow others to enter behind you. Let the door close behind you. Each person will need to show ID before entering.
Once inside, please check in at the front office. If you are visiting beyond the front office area, your ID will be scanned through our district’s Raptor system.
🎫 All visitors will be provided a name tag, which must be worn visibly on the front of your shirt at all times while on campus.
All visitors must enter and exit through the main entrance.

**You may only have lunch with your student on their designated day. If you would like to have lunch with your child on their birthday that falls on a day outside of the designated grade level day, please contact the grade level assistant principal for approval.

Birthday Invitations
Parents may send invitations to teachers for distribution in the classroom. Please ensure you invite either the entire class, only boys, or only girls. We do not give out student phone numbers, home addresses, or other parent contact information.
Birthday Snacks
While the use of non food rewards and celebrations is always preferred, Klein ISD acknowledges that there are instances when foods are used appropriately as part of instruction. Parents/guardians are allowed to provide a birthday snack for their child's birthday. The following guidelines apply to such snacks:

The campus nurse will be given a two week advance written notice of the parent / guardian decision to provide food items to students with a list of ingredients.
In the case of commercially prepared food, the product label must be provided, including the complete ingredient list and all information about production line exposure to known food allergens.
All snacks must be individually wrapped and packaged in a disposable container. Schools will not be responsible for parents’ personal kitchen items.

Medication at School: All medication—both prescription and over-the-counter—must be delivered to the clinic by a parent or guardian.
Prescription medications must be in the original container with the pharmacy label clearly showing the student’s name and dosage instructions.
Unused medication cannot be sent home with students. If you cannot pick up the medication personally, please arrange with the school nurse for another authorized adult to do so.

All student absences require a written excuse from a parent or guardian to be submitted via Skyward within 5 days of the student’s return to school.
How to Submit an Excuse Note:
