We can’t wait to see our Lions in the library!! Library classes will begin checking out books a couple of weeks after school begins. Please talk to your child about how to keep our Lemm Library books safe and clean, and make a plan for keeping books safe in backpacks, cars, and houses. Water bottles leak - so please make a plan to keep water bottles and lunch boxes away from library books - especially in backpacks. Families will be held responsible for lost and/or damaged books.
In the meantime - get your child in the habit of reading every day. You can check out books online from OverDrive Sora or learn facts on Pebble Go.(both located on your child’s Dashboard)
If you have a library book from last year - please turn it in the front office as soon as possible.
If you would like to volunteer in the library please fill out the Lemm Library Volunteer Form and complete Klein’s Volunteer Application.

Referral Window: August 4 - September 5, 2025 (closes at 11:59 p.m.)
Assessment Process: We use nationally normed referenced assessments and require a minimum of three criteria (quantitative and qualitative) as mandated by the Texas Education Agency. Testing occurs from October 7 - November 22.
Key Components:
Parent and teacher screeners based on Kingore Observation Inventory© (deadline November 5)
Campus Gifted Identification Committees (CGIC) review all data to make placement decisions

Creating an early pattern of regular attendance establishes attitudes and habits that will carry over into adult work habits. Inconsistent attendance results in falling behind in class work and class instruction making it difficult to catch up. Your child's success in school depends on having a solid educational background, one that can only be gained through regular school attendance. While some absences might seem more excusable, the impact is actually the same whether your child is sick, cutting class or taking a family trip. Some absences are unavoidable, but too many put your child at risk academically. Save absences for when it is absolutely necessary. If your child has been ill and has seen a physician for treatment, please remember to turn that note into your campus attendance office within five days of your child returning to school. If your child does not need medical attention but is out, please enter the excuse on your Family Access/Skyward account within five days of your child returning to school.
An important step toward student achievement (College & Career Readiness) is being at school every day. Attendance is critical to student academic success. In order to provide increased communication regarding attendance issues, Klein ISD works to provide prompt notification for parents when attendance issues arise in the Family Access/Skyward account.
Please contact our registrar Mrs. Stone with any questions at dstone@kleinisd.net

If the principal determines that a student’s grooming or clothing violates the school’s dress code, the student will be given an opportunity to correct the problem at school and return to the classroom.
