Hi Krahn Family,
We can't wait to see you all at Meet the Teacher Monday, August 11th from 4:30-6:00 pm.
If you are new to Krahn, please make sure you have completed your enrollment online (here). If you are a returning Cardinal don't forget to complete the REQUIRED Annual Student Information update by Friday, August 8th. Click http://www.kleinisd.net/update to start the process.
We have a few upcoming ways you can support our Cardinals starting out the year. The first is volunteering for our Bus Buddies for the first week of school. Bus Buddies is a partnership between volunteers and Klein ISD to provide assistance to elementary students to help them get off of the bus at the correct location. This program requires one "Bus Buddy" per elementary bus the first three days of school (August 13 - 15, 2025). This approximate time commitment is from 3:00 - 5:00 PM. You will need to complete your KISD Volunteer Application the process typically takes 5-7 business days. Please review the available slots below and click on the button to sign up. Thank you!
For those that are new, here is a little bit more about me. I attended Klein ISD schools growing up and knew I wanted to return back here when starting my teaching career. I taught at Zwink Elementary. I served in the Assistant Principal role at Blackshear, Zwink, and Lemm Elementary before moving to Krahn. This is my 4th year as Principal at Krahn Elementary. My husband Allen and I have a daughter Brinley, who turned 1 in July.

Procedures to follow:
When you are directed to stop, please have your child exit the car with all their belongings to keep the lines moving.
Parents must stay in their vehicle at all times in the car rider line.
All walkers and bike riders will enter through the front door of the building.
Daycare riders will be dropped off following the pattern of the blue arrows in the picture below.
All bus riders will be dropped off in front of the school in the roundabout. The students will enter through the front doors.
Students riding Klein Transportation will use the SMART TAG system to scan on and off the bus for accurate rosters and safety measures for all.
Once the SMART tag has been issued to each student, it is very important to make sure it is on their backpacks each day.
If your child loses their SMART tag, a $1.oo fee will be issued on school cash for you to pay for the replacement.
Families & students may find their bus route information here. You can track your child while on the bus using the Parent Smart Tag Portal.
There is no parking at the front roundabout due to it being a fire lane.
One of our main goals is to get your students back to you at the end of the day safely. We are a very large campus and work to get all students home very quickly. The end of the day can get hectic, so we ask for your help, cooperation, and understanding.
All changes in transportation must be submitted to the front office by 2:45
A car rider number (Car Tag Form) is required to pickup your child in the carpool lane. A child will not be released to a car without a car tag.
If you do not have a car tag, you will be required to park and go to the front office to get your child. (This will start on the 1st day of school)
Everyone will be assigned a new car rider number every year
A hanger works great to display your number on the rearview mirror.
All car riders will be picked up in the cafeteria parking lot. Two lines will form and load at once.
Please make sure to follow all Krahn employees instructions for efficiency and safety purposes.
When the car rider line is empty, students will be escorted to the front office. You will need to come inside the front office to sign out your student.
Students will be escorted from their classroom to the buses with teacher supervision.
Students will be transported to their designated drop off location assigned by Klein Transportation.
All students are expected to follow the student code of conduct on the school bus, failure to do so will result in disciplinary actions.
Families may find their bus information here.
EC, PreK, Kindergarten, and 1st grade students will need to be picked up at the designated locations (see picture below).
EC, PreK, Kindergarten, and 1st grade parents will need to show walker tag number daily in order to pick up the child. You may show the walker tag number with the physical paper or a picture of it on your phone. Older siblings can pick up younger siblings if they have the walker tag.
2nd, 3rd,4th, & 5th grade students will not need a walker number
2nd, 3rd, 4th, & 5th grade students will be escorted to the gate by the track at the parent meeting spot where they can walk home.
