Week 2/38

Bearkat Community Update

Klein High is proud to announce that we have received an A (92) rating in the Texas Education Agency’s (TEA) 2025 A–F Accountability Ratings—the first time in school's history that we have earned this academic recognition! Along with this incredible honor, our campus also received Distinctions in the areas of Math, Reading, Postsecondary Readiness, Closing the Gaps, and Academic Growth. We are so proud of our students, faculty, and staff for making this achievement possible.

As we begin Week Two, please keep these important reminders in mind:

  • Electronic Device Policy: Full enforcement begins this week, and consequences will be assigned for violations. Please remind your student to keep all personal electronic devices turned off and put away for the entire school day (7:04 am - 2:35 pm). This includes cell phones, smartwatches, tablets, earbuds, and any other device capable of digital or telecommunication. Students may bring disposable cameras to take pictures during non-instructional times.

  • Tardy Policy in Effect - tardies will be taken starting this week!

  • Library Will Be Open this Wednesday at 6:40 a.m.

  • Getting Messages or Items to Your Bearkat:

    • If you need to get an urgent message to your student, please call the front desk and request that a message be delivered.

    • If you have an item to deliver, front office aides will only deliver eyeglasses, technology, or instruments to students.

    • Food deliveries, gym supplies, and other personal items will be labeled and placed on a pick-up table for your student. You may email your student or request that the office send them a message about the item.

    • Our office staff will always do their very best to help!

  • Meet the Bearkats – Wednesday, 6:00 PM: We are reimagining this event and going BIG! Join us at the stadium for performances from the band, cheer, Bearkadettes, and all fall sports athletes as we kick off our seasons. Come early to enjoy the food trucks, and wear blue and gold to show your Bearkat pride! Families Invited! Let's make this a big community event!

  • Freshman Mixer – August 22: Tickets will be sold at the door. Please encourage your freshman to attend this fun opportunity to meet new friends.

  • New Digital Marquee: Soon, you’ll be able to celebrate your Bearkat with personalized messages— birthday shoutouts, Senior Spotlights, and celebrations for athletics, arts, and academics. This option will be available through School Cash soon—stay tuned for details.

We love our Bearkats and are looking forward to another great week!

dress code

Please note the dress code priorities for the 25-26 school year. More detailed information, including additional dress code guidelines, can be found within the Klein ISD Student Handbook.

  • Students may not wear suggestive or inappropriately located decorative patches, insignia, or clothing with improper advertising, pictures, slogans, or statements.

  • Appropriate footwear is required. House shoes/slippers are not allowed.

  • Any attire or accessory, including blankets, that are distracting, disruptive, or disturbing will not be permitted on school property. This includes outfits that are too short, too revealing, low-cut, see-through, or backless. Underwear-styled garments should not be worn as outerwear.

  • Sunglasses, hats, hoodies, and head coverings may not be worn inside the building.

If the principal determines that a student’s grooming or clothing violates the school’s dress code, the student will be given an opportunity to correct the problem at school and return to the classroom. If the problem cannot be corrected at school, the principal will work with the student and parent to obtain an acceptable change of clothing for the student in a way that minimizes loss of instructional time. Repeated or severe offenses may result in more serious disciplinary action in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct.
