Amazing Week at Kleb Intermediate 🀩

What an incredible week it's been at Kleb Intermediate! Our students have been working hard in their academic classes, diving deep into engaging lessons, and showing tremendous growth across all subjects. We're bursting with pride over our Name That Book competition team, who placed an outstanding 3rd overall - what fantastic readers and competitors! Throughout it all, our school community has been showing amazing support for our Bearcubs, cheering them on in all their endeavors and creating that special Kleb spirit that makes our school such a wonderful place to learn and grow.

Quarter 3 Fact Fluency Celebrations πŸ₯§

Our Bearcubs absolutely Crushed Quarter 3 Fact Fluency and earned the sweetest reward - pieing their teachers in the face! Students were celebrated for Most Improved in Multiplication & Division, plus Highest Accuracy in both areas, and got to choose which brave Math teachers, Support Teachers, and Behavior Specialist would take a pie to the face during lunch! Nothing says "math success" like watching your teachers get gloriously messy while celebrating your hard work and dedication!

Track Season is in Full Swing πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

Our Kleb Intermediate track athletes are absolutely crushing it this season! From sprints to distance runs, jumps to throws, our dedicated athletes are showing incredible improvement and teamwork every single day. Their hard work at practice is really paying off with personal records being broken left and right, outstanding sportsmanship on display, and team spirit that's second to none. The energy and determination our track team brings to every meet is truly inspiring, and these student-athletes are representing Kleb Intermediate with pride and excellence. Keep it up, Track Stars!

πŸ” Explore CTE Pathway

As we get ready for course selection in January, we encourage families to look through our Career & Technical Education (CTE) Programs. This helps students see which 9th-grade courses match their interests. Parents and guardians can also support their students by talking with them about their future college and career ideas to help them choose the best courses for their goals.

Cell Phone Policy

Cell phones may only be used before arriving on campus and after leaving for the day. During school hours, students are expected to keep their phones, smartwatches, and headphones stored out of sight in their backpacks before entering the building and throughout the day. Personal devices are not allowed in hallways, classrooms, restrooms, or the cafeteria.

Key points to remember:

  • Students must put their phones, headphones, and smartwatches in their backpacks or purses before entering the building; devices should not be in their hands or pockets.

  • Students who do not follow this rule will have their phones confiscated and sent to the grade-level discipline office.

  • Confiscated phones must be picked up by a parent or guardian; they will not be returned directly to students.

  • Only wired headphones are permitted during instructional time, as directed by teachers. Bluetooth or wireless earbuds are prohibited for safety reasons.

  • If a parent or guardian needs to contact their student during the school day, please call the school office to have a message delivered.

ID

ID Badges

Safety is our top priority at Kleb. At the start of the school year, every student will receive a new ID badge. All students are required to wear their ID badge visibly around their neck on a lanyard, with their name and photo clearly displayed. This policy helps ensure the safety of all Klein ISD students and is part of our dress code.

If a student arrives at school without their ID badge on, they must purchase a temporary ID band for $1 at the ID station in the cafeteria before school. Consequences reset at the start of each grading period. Here is the sequence of consequences for not wearing the ID badge:

1st: Purchase temporary ID ($1), warning
2nd: Purchase temporary ID ($1), parent contact
3rd: Purchase temporary ID ($1), 1 school detention
4th: Purchase temporary ID ($1), 2 school detentions
5th: Purchase temporary ID ($1), 3 school detentions OR 1 Saturday school
6th: Purchase permanent ID ($5), 1 day in-school suspension (ISS)
Additional Offenses: Considered major non-compliance

Kleb administration reserves the right to adjust consequences as needed.

Please be advised that the dress code will be enforced starting from day one. Some important points to remember include: no head coverings, hats, bandanas, or similar items are allowed; all shirts and shorts must be of appropriate length.

Please refer to the Student Handbook [here] for our dress code guidelines. To help maintain a positive and respectful school environment, students are expected to follow the dress code. If the dress code is not followed, appropriate disciplinary action will be taken in accordance with the student code of conduct.

No Fast Food

No Fast Food or Food Deliveries

Please note that fast food items and food deliveries will not be allowed or accepted during the school day.

Students may bring water bottles with closed lids to school. Please make sure the lids are securely closed to prevent spills.

Cups
