#JaguarsJourney

Jaguars Journey

Dear Parents,

As we end another great week at Haude, I’m writing my final newsletter message as Principal. After 13 years in this community and 38 years in Klein ISD, I will be retiring at the end of this week.

Serving this community has been an honor. Every day, your children have inspired me with their curiosity, kindness, and creativity. I have loved having the opportunity to watch them grow as learners, leaders, and bright young people with endless possibilities. I am incredibly grateful for the trust you have placed in me, and in our staff, and for the partnership we’ve shared in nurturing each child’s educational journey.

I’m so excited that Mrs. Jana Lopez will be the next Principal. She brings strong experience and a warm commitment to students and families. I know she will lead our community with great care, and I hope you will join me in welcoming her.

I will always hold Haude close to my heart. Thank you for the support, collaboration, and kindness you’ve shown me over the years.

Wishing you all a wonderful remainder of the school year, and a future filled with learning, laughter, and bright beginnings.

Sincerely,

Rachel Wall

Haude Principal

Look at What We are Learning!

Did you know that just 20 minutes of reading a day can work magic on a child’s mind? 📚✨

Check this out…

⭐ 20 minutes a day = 1.8 million words a year!
That’s like reading your way through a mountain of new ideas.
Kids who read only 5 minutes a day see about 282,000 words—still great, but nowhere near the super-reader level!

💛 Reading builds empathy.
Books let children step into someone else’s shoes and experience the world through a whole new perspective.

🌍 Books are little passports.
Kids explore new cultures, big ideas, and different ways of thinking—all from the comfort of their own couch.

🧠 Reading boosts critical thinking.
Every story invites kids to make predictions, solve problems, and stretch their brains.

✍️ Better reading = better writing.
Exposure to strong vocabulary, grammar, and sentence flow naturally leads to stronger writing skills.

📊 It even helps on tests.
Students who read 20 minutes a day score much higher on reading assessments.

🌙 A perfect wind-down.
Sharing a bedtime story—or letting your child read on their own—helps them relax and settle after a busy day.

Just 20 minutes a day… and the benefits last a lifetime! 📖💫
