Exciting Learning Ahead in 2nd Grade!

This week, our second graders are diving into the world of storytelling! Here's what we'll be exploring:

📚 Literary Adventures (TEKS 2.9C): We'll uncover the special traits of beloved children's literature—like folktales, fables, and fairy tales! Get ready for clever heroes, and important life lessons.

🔍 Plot Detectives (TEKS 2.8C): Students will learn how to spot the main events, conflicts, and resolutions in a story. They'll be thinking like real authors!

🧠 Context Clue Sleuths (TEKS 2.3C): We're practicing how to use clues in the text to figure out tricky words. Reading between the lines is a superpower!

🗣️ Story Retelling Stars (TEKS 2.7D): Students will practice retelling stories with all the important details—beginning, middle, and end.

It’s going to be a week full of imagination, critical thinking, and lots of reading fun!

Bus Update

Thank you for your continued partnership in helping us create a safe and positive bus experience for all our students. Riding the bus is an important part of the school day, and we appreciate your support in reinforcing respectful and responsible behavior.

Please take a few moments to review the Student Code of Conduct included in this newsletter. Going over these expectations with your child helps ensure that every ride is a safe and pleasant one.

School Supply Lists

In alignment with Klein ISD’s Safe and Secure protocols, all visitors must show a valid photo ID at the front door before entering the building.

Please take a moment to review the Entry Procedure sign posted at our main entrance. All visitors are required to:

1. Ring the doorbell

2. Identify yourself

3. State your child’s name

4. Share the reason for your visit

5. Present your valid photo ID

🚫 For security reasons, please do not allow others to enter behind you who are not part of your group.

Once inside, please check in at the front office. If you are visiting beyond the front office area, your ID will be scanned through our district’s Raptor system.

🎫 All visitors will be provided a name tag, which must be worn visibly on the front of your shirt at all times while on campus.

All visitors must enter and exit through the main entrance.

Student Code of Conduct

Custody & Legal Guidelines In accordance with district policy, the school is not required to contact the managing conservator when a possessory conservator requests to review records or consult with a teacher.

Parent Conflicts:
Please note that conflicts between parents must be resolved outside of the school setting. We kindly ask that you provide us with any court orders or documentation that outline custody arrangements or limitations on access or communication.

Custody Documentation:
It is the responsibility of the parents/guardians to provide the school with a certified copy of the most recent court order affecting any individual's rights related to the child. For questions or concerns regarding custody, please contact our principal.

Medication at School All medication—both prescription and over-the-counter—must be delivered to the clinic by a parent or guardian.

• Prescription medications must be in the original container with the pharmacy label clearly showing the student’s name and dosage instructions.

• Unused medication cannot be sent home with students. If you cannot pick up the medication personally, please arrange with the school nurse for another authorized adult to do so.

• Please note: Vitamins, health supplements, and herbal remedies are not permitted to be administered at school.
