Welcome back! We hope all of our families had a wonderful and relaxing Spring Break.
As we begin the fourth quarter, we are excited to finish the school year strong. This is an important time for our students, and we appreciate your continued support as we work together to help them stay focused and successful. If there is anything we can do to support your child, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
We’re looking forward to seeing staff and student back tomorrow and a great finish to the school year!

Staffing Update! A-F Alpha Assistant Principal |
Beginning Monday, March 23, Mr. Brendon Bell will be transitioning to Wunderlich Intermediate to serve as the Dean of Students! While we are incredibly sad to see him go, we are grateful for his time and contributions to our campus. For the next four weeks, Ms. Janie Elmore will be serving as our substitute assistant principal for the A-F alpha, and we are excited to have her join us. Please help us welcome her to our school community. We will work on updating our communication templates to reflect this change, but if you need to reach Ms. Elmore, you can email her directly at JElmore@Kleinisd.net.

At Doerre, student safety remains our top priority. In alignment with recent district communication shared earlier this week, we want to remind families of the wanding procedures outlined in our beginning-of-year newsletters. As part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining a safe campus, we will be increasing the number of randomly selected classrooms for backpack checks using handheld metal detectors beginning this week.
Additionally, we will be revisiting important safety procedures with students this week, including ID expectations, safety drills, exterior door protocols, wanding procedures, etc. We appreciate your continued support and partnership as we work to ensure a safe environment for all students at Doerre.

As we approach April, we also approach a busy season of STAAR exams! Here are the dates for testing this Spring-
April 8- 6-8 ELA STAAR
April 14- 8th Grade SS STCAAR
April 15- 8th Grade Science STAAR and Biology EOC
April 22- 6-8 Math STAAR
April 28- Algebra I EOC STAAR
A few notes about testing:
-We will provide alternate bell schedules as the dates near. Please refrain from scheduling morning doctor's appointments on these dates. Schedules will be similar to the benchmark testing schedule from last month.
-Testing room assignments will be posted for students in Schoology. These rooms are mostly the same as the rooms assigned for MAP testing.
-Please remind your student to charge their Chromebook before testing and to get a good night's rest!
-Students are allowed to bring a healthy snack and water to have during testing.

To ensure all students are safely supervised, we do not student allow entry unless their teacher is present. Between 8:00 and 8:25, students can enter the building for tutorials through the secondary front door (the entrance nearest the handicap parking spots). Students must present their student ID and sign in, indicating where they will attend. Students will only be permitted to attend tutorials for teachers who have marked themselves present.
Here is the tutorial schedule for the 25-26 school year: Doerre Tutorial Schedule. Once the teacher arrives, they will turn their name green on this sheet, and our tutorial door greeter will know to let those students in for tutorials. Teacher AM Tutoring Check-In Sheet
After 8:25, students will not be able to enter the building until the bell rings at 8:35, allowing our staff time to prepare for the school day and report to their morning duty stations.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding!

2025-2026 PRIDE Expectations

PRIDE UPDATE-
Beginning Monday, March 2, we will be shifting to a rotation-style PRIDE format during STAAR Prep Season. This adjustment will allow STAAR-tested teachers to see their classes at least two additional times (and in some cases three) prior to the Spring STAAR exam. This extra time will provide valuable opportunities for targeted review lessons, small group instruction, and focused skill practice.
Students will continue to attend their regular PRIDE on Mondays for Character Ed and the PRIDE Prep Checklist. Please note that 4th Period is not included in the rotation, as it is already 10 minutes longer than other class periods each day and has additional time built in.
Thank you for being open and flexible as we make this adjustment to better support our students. We will return to our normal PRIDE schedule after STAAR is complete in May. For the full schedule details, please check the calendar below.
