Greetings Doerre Family,

Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year!

This year at Doerre, our theme is “All Day, Every Day”—a bold reminder that we show up, give our best, and bring the Warrior spirit 100% of the time. Whether it’s in the classroom, on the stage, or on the field, our students and staff are committed to excellence—all day, every day.

We’ve been hard at work preparing for August 13th, and the energy on campus is electric! From setting up classrooms to decking the halls in true Warrior style, our team is ready to welcome students back.

As we count down the final days of summer, we know there’s a lot to keep track of. That’s why we’ve gathered all the important back-to-school dates and to-do items in one place below—your one-stop shop for everything you need to start the year strong:

📢 Exciting News, Doerre Families! 📢

We’re getting ready to kick off the 2025–2026 school year All Day, Every Day—and that includes making sure your student is tech-ready from the start! 💻✨

We’re excited to offer students the opportunity to pick up their Chromebooks before the first day of school for a smooth and successful start.

Chromebook Pick-Up Details:

📍 Location: Doerre Cafeteria
📅 Dates: August 6, 7, or 8
🕘 Times: 9:00 AM–12:00 PM or 1:00–4:00 PM
📚 Open to all grade levels—come whenever works best for you!

💡 Can’t make it early? No problem—students will receive their device during 1st period on Thursday, August 14.

Before You Pick Up:

We are thrilled to kick off the 2025–2026 school year with Doerreintation, our annual back-to-school welcome event for incoming 6th graders and all students new to Doerre Intermediate!

Annual Enrollment Update

With a glowing 2025-2026 school year just around the corner, we want to ensure that all of our families are prepared before school starts.

RETURNING STUDENTS: For our returning students and families, welcome back! We cannot wait to see you back on campus! Please make sure to complete the Annual Enrollment Update. This is required for all current students in Klein ISD to ensure each student has a schedule and teachers assigned prior to the first day of school.

Schedule Change Requests

As we get started on the first day, if a student has a question about their schedule, please have them complete the schedule change request form located in Schoology (coming soon). All students should remain in their scheduled class. Their counselor will call the student down to resolve any issues.

Please note that we are unable to accommodate schedule changes based on requests for specific teachers or to be in the same class or lunch as friends. We are proud of our amazing team of teachers, and this is a great opportunity for students to meet new people and make new connections. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to your student's alpha counselor. Schedules should be available for students to view in Skyward beginning August 11.

Student ID Information

Students will receive their 2025-2026 IDs when they pick up their Chromebook or on the first day of school in their first period class.

Students are expected to have their IDs on a lanyard, around their neck, and visible at all times.
IDs may be taken off during physical activity but required to be put back around neck.
Students who do not have their ID will be required to acquire a temporary ID. A $1 fee will be added to the student's school cash account.


Students who lose their ID may request a new one. The student will be provided with a new ID, lanyard, and sleeve. A $5 fee will be added to their school cash account.

Here are this year's standard lanyard colors:

6th Grade- Yellow

7th Grade- Black

8th Grade- Red

*Note lanyard color travels with the student, so returning students will be able to use last year's lanyards, but a new one will also be provided to each student.

Doerre Cell Phone Policy Update

New State Law for Personal Communication Devices

As we prepare for the start of the school year, we want to make sure our families are informed regarding a new state law, House Bill 1481, that was recently passed by the Texas Legislature. 

Beginning with the 2025–2026 school year, this new state law prohibits students from using personal communication devices during the instructional day while on school grounds. This includes cell phones, smartwatches, tablets, earbuds, and any other device capable of digital or telecommunication.

What This Means for Our Students

Students may bring personal communication devices to school, but they must be turned off, out of sight, and stored away in their backpack, pocket, laptop sleeve, or other personal belongings while on school grounds from the first bell to the end of the instructional day, including during class, passing periods, lunch, and recess. 

The law requires disciplinary consequences for the use of personal communication devices during the instructional day while on school grounds. Exceptions are provided for students covered under a Section 504 plan or an Individualized Education Program (IEP) that includes personal communication devices as an accommodation. Access will be permitted as outlined in their individual plans. 

Prior to the first day of school, we encourage you to discuss this new Texas law with your children and emphasize the importance of focusing on learning throughout the school day. Students will review the cell phone policy during code of conduct presentations in the first days of school. First Day Arrival and Dismissal

Arrival: Starting at 8:35, doors will be open to students.

  • 6th Grade Arrival- On the first day of school, 6th grade students will go to the far end of the main gym to pick up their schedule. 6th grade students will wait in the bleachers of the main gym until their first period teacher meets them and walks them to class.

  • 7th grade Arrival- students will go to the new gym to pick up their schedule and remain there until dismissed.

  • 8th grade Arrival- students will go to the the main gym nearest the cafeteria entrance to pick up their schedules and then return to the cafeteria. They will remain in the cafeteria until dismissed.

*Note- Schedules will be color coded for each grade level.

6th Grade- Green

7th Grade- Pink

8th Grade- Yellow

Dismissal: Starting at 4:13 students will have a staggered release by their specific type of transportation. 6th graders are released first at 4:13, and 7th and 8th graders are released later at 4:15. Walkers and bike riders will exit campus at their designated points. Car riders must exit and wait outside of the front entrance for their ride. Bus riders will exit and load as their bus groups arrive at the bus ramp exit near the Doerre cafeteria.

Teachers will review dismissal procedures at the beginning of 7th period and assist any students that may not know their bus number. Please visit the Transportation Website for more bus information.

Car Rider Drop Off and Pick Up Details

HERE are detailed instructions for both drop off and pick up for car riders at Doerre Intermediate.

Thank you for your support as we strive to make Doerre as safe as possible for our students, parents, faculty and staff. If you have any questions or concerns about morning drop off or afternoon pickup, please reach out to your child’s administrator.

Please find this year’s Doerre school supply list HERE. Please note that this is a basic supply list, you may need additional items depending upon individual teachers and elective classes. Those teachers will inform students of specific needs during the first week of school.

7th Grade Vaccinations

The state of Texas for enrollment in 7th Grade requires the following updated vaccinations: Tdap, Meningococcal. Please provide updated vaccination records to the Doerre Clinic prior to the first day of school.

Doerre Student Expectations and Code of Conduct Review

In the first days of school, the administrative team will be reviewing campus expectations for student behavior at Doerre Intermediate. HERE are some of the expectations that will be discussed with students. If you have any questions regarding these expectations, please reach out to your child’s administrator.

Code of Conduct Assemblies-

6th Grade- August 14th during PRIDE

7th Grade- August 15th during PRIDE

8th Grade- August 18th during PRIDE

2025-2026 PRIDE Expectations

PRIDE is a built-in advisory period after 5th period. New this year! Students will be schedule to a specific PRIDE period and remain with the same teacher during PRIDE for the entire semester. This will allow us to better serve the needs of our students and allow teachers to build strong connections and mentorship with and advisory class. PRIDE is used for intervention, reteaching, social skills, character education, and other assigned activities. PRIDE challenges students socially and academically to become the best versions of themselves! For the first two weeks of school, students will stay in their 5th period classes during PRIDE time, it will be used to review PRIDE expectations, attend campus code of conduct assemblies, and get the student PRIDE PREP checklist set up and ready to go for the year. Below, you will find the PRIDE schedule for the first few weeks of school.

August 13th-August 15th- Extended 5th Period

August 18th-August 22nd- Extended 5th Period

August 25th-August 29th- Transition to PRIDE

Student Absences

Reporting Student Absences

All student absences require a written excuse from a parent or guardian to be submitted within 5 days of the student’s return to school.

How to Submit an Excuse Note:
Klein ISD's preferred method for reporting absences is by entering the information in Skyward Family Access.

Other acceptable forms of documentation include:

  • A handwritten note from the parent/guardian

  • A note from a medical professional

Please note that we are unable to accept absence notifications submitted via:

  • Email to the front office, registrar, teachers, or other staff members

Visitor Entry Procedures

In alignment with Klein ISD’s Safe and Secure protocols, all visitors must show a valid photo ID at the front door before entering the building.

Please take a moment to review the Entry Procedure sign posted at our main entrance. All visitors are required to:

  1. Ring the doorbell

  2. Identify yourself

  3. State your child’s name

  4. Share the reason for your visit

  5. Present your valid photo ID

🚫 For security reasons, please do not allow others to enter behind you who are not part of your group.

Once inside, please check in at the front office. If you are visiting beyond the front office area, your ID will be scanned through our district’s Raptor system.

🎫 All visitors will be provided a name tag, which must be worn visibly on the front of your shirt at all times while on campus.

All visitors must enter and exit through the main entrance to the left of the flagpole.
