🍂 October Attendance Matters! 🍂
At Benfer, we want every student to get the most out of each school day. Just like arriving on time by 8:05 AM is important, staying the entire day is just as critical. Every minute of learning matters, and missing even small chunks of the day means missing out on key skills that help your child succeed in their grade.
⭐ When students are here all day, they grow in confidence, stay on track with their classmates, and don’t miss out on important lessons and activities!
Please remember:
If you choose to keep your child home for the day due to being sick, be sure to log into Skyward or send a note to school when they return to excuse the absence.
After 6 unexcused absences, families will be called in to review an Attendance Improvement Plan.
After 16 unexcused absences, we are required to submit truancy reports as outlined by district guidelines.
Let’s work together to make October a month of strong attendance and strong learning for all our Bobcats! 🐾
Everything you need... in 1 place! The Klein ISD App!
This year, we’ve launched a new district app with a feature called Rooms. Rooms will replace Remind, which we used last year. If you don’t already have it, the district app is free, and you can find it in the App Store or Google Play Store. You may have already received an invite to Rooms by email or text. If so, you’re already enrolled and can log in at any time.
For more information, helpful resources, and frequently asked questions about Rooms, go to:
Explore the Family Curriculum Guides! Click Here
The Family Curriculum Guides are resources designed to help guide parents through the content and Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills your children learn throughout the school year. They provide information by grade level for each quarter and include:
Key concepts and skills students are expected to master for each subject
Questions to ask your child
Tips on helping students learn at home
Additional tools for success
Klein ISD uses the SMART tag ID card system to increase student safety and allow access to campus services via easy scans.
The SMART tag system, which consists of student ID cards with barcodes and smart readers to read the cards, will allow students to
check out library books via a quick scan,
easily pay for lunch and breakfast with a swipe, and
allow families to receive bus stop notifications when their child gets on and off the bus.
By implementing this new ID card system, school staff will be able to quickly and efficiently identify anyone who should not be on campus, greatly increasing school safety.
If you need a new SMART tag, you can purchase one for $5 in the front office or on School Cash Online.
Due to limited space, parents/guardians may eat lunch with their child on assigned days! Parents/Guardians can only bring lunch for their child due to allergies and eat with their child at the parent table area on assigned days.
Mondays: PreK & 1st Grade
Tuesdays: 4th Grade
Wednesdays: 3rd Grade
Thursdays: 2nd Grade
Fridays: Kindergarten & 5th Grade

For the safety of all students, we ask that families follow our arrival/dismissal map for drop off and pick up.
Please remember that the bus lane in the left side parking lot is reserved only for buses, day care vans, and EC/Pre-K drop-off. Please use the car rider lane when dropping children off or picking up students. If you need to use the left side parking lot for drop off, please park and walk your student into the building. When students are dropped off outside of the designated areas and allowed to walk on their own, their safety is put at risk.
Thank you for helping us keep every child safe!
Please read the information below regarding change of transportation procedures.
1. Changes in transportation request should be submitted in writing before 2:45 p.m. Requests made after 2:45 p.m. cannot be approved.
2. A written and signed note is required to change regular transportation. It can be sent with your student to campus to turn in or dropped off to the office. A transportation change will not be accepted over the phone or email.
Visit our website for more information about our dismissal procedures.
