Attendance Tips of the Month |
|
|
EVERY DAY COUNTS! Come to school ready to learn! ⭐ When students are here all day, they grow in confidence, stay on track with their classmates, and don’t miss out on important lessons and activities! Please remember:
If you choose to keep your child home for the day due to being sick, be sure to log into Skyward or send a note to school when they return to excuse the absence. After 6 unexcused absences, families will be called in to review an Attendance Improvement Plan.
After 16 unexcused absences, we are required to submit truancy reports as outlined by district guidelines.

A Message from our Counselor |

A Message from the Counselor: March 2026
We are in the heart of testing season — a time that can quietly heighten stress and anxiety for many students. While some children express this pressure outwardly, others internalize it. Either way, we often see those big feelings reflected in behavior. This is a powerful opportunity for us to come together and strengthen the partnership between home and school.
As educators and caregivers, we share a common purpose: creating environments where children feel physically safe, emotionally supported, and deeply valued. Our students also play an important role in maintaining that sense of safety within their classrooms and peer groups.
When children feel overwhelmed, frustrated, or hurt, they sometimes respond with unkind words or physical reactions. You may hear phrases like, “He/she did it first,” or “My mom/dad says I should hit back.” These responses are often rooted in strong emotions and undeveloped coping skills rather than intentional harm. The true foundation for preventing aggressive behavior is connection.
When children feel a genuine sense of belonging — when they know they matter — they are far more likely to regulate their emotions, communicate their needs, and navigate conflict in healthy ways. Emotional safety builds emotional strength.
One of the greatest life skills we can nurture in our children is the ability to stand up for themselves calmly and confidently. We want them to learn that strength does not come from reacting impulsively, but from responding thoughtfully. You can support this growth at home by encouraging your child to: Pause and take a deep breath when emotions rise
Name what they are feeling (“I feel frustrated,” “I feel left out”)
Use calm, assertive language to express their boundaries
Seek help from a trusted adult when they need support
Equally important is the modeling we provide. Children watch how we handle stress, frustration, and disagreement. When we shift from saying, “You made me angry,” to “I felt frustrated, and here’s how I’m choosing to respond,” we teach them ownership and self-control. We show them that while we cannot control others’ actions, we can always choose our response.
Testing season will pass, but the emotional tools our children develop during challenging moments will last a lifetime. Let’s continue working together — with patience, empathy, and consistency — to help our children grow not only academically, but socially and emotionally as well. When home and school stand united, our children thrive. |

SMART Tags- MUST have to ride the bus! |
|
|
| Klein ISD uses the SMART tag ID card system to increase student safety and allow access to campus services via easy scans.
The SMART tag system, which consists of student ID cards with barcodes and smart readers to read the cards, will allow students to check out library books via a quick scan, easily pay for lunch and breakfast with a swipe, and allow families to receive bus stop notifications when their child gets on and off the bus.
By implementing this new ID card system, school staff will be able to quickly and efficiently identify anyone who should not be on campus, greatly increasing school safety. Download the SMART Tag App Here! |
|
|
|
If you need a new SMART tag, you can purchase one for $5 in the front office or on School Cash Online. |

Benfer Arrival & Dismissal Reminders |
For the safety of all students, we ask that families follow our arrival/dismissal map for drop off and pick up.
Please remember that the bus lane in the left side parking lot is reserved only for buses, day care vans, and EC/Pre-K drop-off. Please use the car rider lane when dropping children off or picking up students. If you need to use the left side parking lot for drop off, please park and walk your student into the building. When students are dropped off outside of the designated areas and allowed to walk on their own, their safety is put at risk.
Thank you for helping us keep every child safe! |
